So the engine of, say, LADA Vesta will easily withstand more than one cold start, and you should not worry about this.
There is another common opinion, they say, engines with an aluminum cylinder block are afraid of a cold start. Here you need to look at the design of a particular unit. Let's say Gamma 1.4L engines. and 1.6 liters, which are put on Hyundai Solaris and KIA Rio, popular in Russia, are produced using the “dry” sleeve method. That is, a cast-iron sleeve with uneven outer edges is filled with liquid aluminum. This solution improves reliability, facilitates repairs and reduces wear during cold starts. Let's not forget about modern oils. If the lubricant is of high quality, even in severe frost nothing will happen to the motor.
Here, again, the memory of how ancient lubricants like M6 / 12 thickened to a “sour cream” state and sentenced the engine is alive. And modern synthetics allow you not to think about oil starvation even in severe frost.
Another thing is that not every motor is able to start, say, at -40 degrees, since its control electronics allows starting at temperatures down to -27. Therefore, if any Porsche intended for sale in the Emirates is brought to Siberia, then there may be problems with its launch. And modern oil will reduce the risk of scuffing in the cylinders. This applies both to the diesel engines of the budget Renault Duster, and to the dream frame car - the Toyota Land Cruiser 200.
