The CR-V MY18-MY19 midsize SUV is one of seven Honda models to be recalled as part of the new recall.

Honda Australia has recalled 22,366 Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, HR-V, CR-V and NSX vehicles due to issues with their fuel pumps.

Specifically, the recall includes 2790 MY19 Jazz light hatchbacks, 390 MY19 City light sedans, 5320 MY18 Civic subcompacts, 66 MY18 Accord midsize sedans, 6438 MY18 HR-V small SUVs, 7361 midsize SUV CR-V 18 model year. and one NSX MY19 sports car sold between July 19, 26 to May 2018, 12.

The fuel pump component used in these models may swell due to an incorrect manufacturing process.

In this case, the fuel pump may fail, which may prevent the engine from starting or cause it to stall while driving. In either case, there is an increased risk of an accident and therefore of serious injury to passengers and/or other road users.

Honda Australia is asking affected owners to register their vehicle with their preferred service center for a free inspection and repair.

For more information, call Honda Australia on 1800 804 954 during business hours. Alternatively, they can contact their preferred dealer.

A full list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) can be found on the ACCC Product Safety Australia website of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
