In 1948, a company from the automotive lighting industry, now called NARVA. Full company name - Narva special lamps GmbH... It is based in Plauen, Germany. The company was created as the property of the GDR and will be privatized after the reunification of Germany. Currently owned by the Philips concern.

The history

In 1948, the pre-war OSRAM plant in Berlin was founded. lighting manufacturing company. A year after its founding, the company started as a state-owned company (at that time owned by the GDR) and produced general lighting under the name VEB Berliner Glühlampenwerk “Rosa L Luxembourg”. It was not until 1957 that the well-known name NARVA was formed today. It comes from the first letters of the ingredients inside the flask: Nitrogen (nitrogen), argon (argon) and VAcuum (vacuum).

Successive years of activity

1969 brought another breakthrough - at NARVA. production of the first halogen lamps started... Five years later, H4 quartz glass bulbs began to be produced. At the turn of the 70s and 80s, the production of lamps with lamps with new technology began, and during the 80s, miniature halogen lamps with solid glass lamps were added to the range.

New Germany, new company

After German reunification, NARVA was privatized and given a new name: NARVA Glühlampenwerk Plauen GmbH. The 90s brought another period of development for the company. The direction was turned to the West (namely the USA) and the production of special types of halogen lamps for the American market - HB3 / HB4 began.

XNUMX century and big changes

2005 is a good year for NARVA - it was then that the decision was made to invest in increasing the size of production facilities and production of the company. Thanks to its growth just one year later, NARVA took another important step with the launch of the H7 lamp with a hard glass bulb. Growth over the years has allowed the company a grand celebration of the 60th anniversary of activity in 2008. NARVA is now renowned for its high quality products and automotive lighting expertise.
