Heated windshield does not work on Vesta

Another problem that many owners of the Lada Vesta car have encountered is a malfunction of the windshield heating. And to be more precise, the heating works, but there is no effect from it. So, this problem has arisen more than once, and the cases were not with one owner. Namely:

1. Vesta's windshield heating worked properly, but with the onset of severe frosts, it refused to “warm up”
2. The upper “filaments” heated up slightly, while the rest of the glass remained frozen.

How to solve this problem?

Since almost no one else has experience in repairing Vesta, the overwhelming majority of car owners prefer to contact an official dealer. Which, in principle, is true, because the car is under warranty, and paying extra money during the warranty period would be a stupid decision.

But at the first contact, many specialists from an authorized dealer offer to ride again, and perhaps the problem will be solved by itself. Well, apart from bewilderment, these words cause nothing else. In fact, glass heating can work more or less normally, but only at lower temperatures. For example, from -10 to -15 problems with defrosting of the windshield are rarely practically non-existent!

But if this problem is not solved, then most likely the dealer will offer you to replace the windshield, since the heating is most likely simply impossible to repair. And glass replacement is already a serious repair for a new car, and if everything is done carelessly, then you can see traces of interference. Moreover, if you screw up with glue and install everything in a hurry, then there may be further negative consequences, such as water entering the cabin through loose connections.

So, in the place of the owners of Lada Vesta, you should think about whether to change the glass or drive out of habit with the heater turned on, aimed at the windshield!
