It is difficult to watch and read German reviews of the Volkswagen ID.3. You see that media representatives would like to tell as much as possible about the car, but they have problems with this. Everyone stresses that the electric Volkswagen is a step in the right direction and has a solidly tuned powertrain, but its electronics and interior need some work.

Disadvantages of the Volkswagen ID.3? Slow multimedia system, poor finish

Auto Motor und Sport speaks directly: from VW Golf IV (1997) Volkswagen set quality standards and ID.3 does not adhere to them.... Although the car tested by the German edition cost almost 49 euros, we can deal with a heavily upgraded version of the ID.3 1st Plus, which in Poland will cost about 210 XNUMX PLN - the car did not shine either with the quality of the materials used, or with the details of the finish, or even with the fitting of the elements.

It turned out, for example, that the pieces of sheet metal under the hood looked like they were being painted by hand. The electronics were slow and unpredictable. The navigation system had problems determining my location several hundred meters away, the car did not connect to online services at all, and the voice commands did not work very quickly or incorrectly. The last problem was noticed by our Reader:

However, it was not all wrong. The drive system and chassis made a great impression on reviewers. The Volkswagen ID.3 needs to be well balanced, precise in handling and have a relatively good range. In calm, discretionary driving a fully charged battery should last for 359 kilometers (16,2 kWh / 100 km, 161,5 Wh / km).

в mixed mode highway driving plus city driving (as we believe: dynamic driving) the car tested by Auto Motor und Sport showed an energy consumption of 23,2 kWh / 100 km (232 Wh / km), therefore The range of the VW ID.3 will be 250 kilometers.... In the range of 80 to 10 percent, this will be 175 kilometers.

Unfortunately, although the test vehicle was new, the seat upholstery is worn out.... According to Auto Motor und Sport The workmanship means it is worth no more than half the price agreed by Volkswagen.... In Poland it will be approximately 105 PLN (source).

It also seems that the range of 359 kilometers, calculated by us long ago, applies to a very calm and restrained ride. People who choose the ID.3 1st version with richer equipment and larger wheels should choose values ​​5-10 percent lower.
