Niu KQi3: Inexpensive Electric Scooter Launched on Indiegogo

A Chinese electric scooter brand has launched its first scooter. The NIU KQi3 is already available for pre-sale on the Indiegogo participation platform. Starting price: 395 euros.

NIU has already sold over 1,8 million electric scooters worldwide. Since its inception in 2014, four series of city scooters have been sold in 38 countries. Suffice it to say that its place in the e-bike sector has already been taken. So why use crowdfunding to launch your first electric scooter? Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and other KissKissBankBanks are commonly used by startups trying to establish themselves and fund production. NIU has been making scooters for 7 years and has received several design awards. However, on July 13, she launched a campaign to promote Niu KQi3.

Two classic yet effective electric scooters

Promotional stunt or spending limits? However, the brand emphasizes the pre-sale aspect at a bargain price. Indeed, the first participants (Early birds) will benefit from a 34% discount on a new electric scooter from NIU. It exists in two versions: KQi3 Sport and KQi3 Pro.

Both have a wide handlebar, solid frame and 9,5 x 2,5-inch tires for a stable and comfortable ride. The Pro version has a longer range (over 50 km versus 40 km for the KQi3 Sport) and a slightly more powerful battery. Otherwise, the two models are identical: rear-wheel drive, regenerative braking, connected NIU app, and four drive modes.
