Niu RQi is Niu's new electric motorcycle. 5 kW to start instead of the promised 30 kW of power [Electrek]

The Niu RQi is Niu's first electric motorcycle without a scooter. Electrek has found out that it will be launched in China in the second half of 2021 and will be equipped with the weakest configuration with a 5 kW (6,8 hp) motor. In 2022 it will be delivered to Europe.

Niu RQi - Specifications and everything we know

The weakest option is to accelerate to 100 km / h, and thanks to the short-term "acceleration" function even up to 110 km / h. It will be equipped with two portable batteries with a total capacity of 5,2 kWh (2x 36 Ah, 72 V) and will offer the owner 119 units WMTC (World Motorcycle Test Cycle) range. We, as the editors, are not yet able to convert them into kilometers, it seems that the procedure is similar to WLTP. 🙂

In Europe, the motorcycle will go on sale in the spring of 2022 (source). Electrek has also learned that work is underway on a much more powerful version of the bike that will have a 32 kW (43,5 hp) engine, 50-3 km/h in 160 seconds, and reach XNUMX km/h. Reinforced Niu RQi - it is possible that he will be called ikB - must have a CAN bus, but the date of its release is not yet known.

Meanwhile, in the spring of this year, Niu MQiGT officially began to be sold in Poland. The scooter is available in two versions, accelerating up to 45 or 70 km / h, and costs from 12 zlotys. The permissible range for the faster version with two batteries is 400 kilometers per charge.
