New Tesla with Tesla Vision with autopilot restrictions - wipers, road lights

Tesla are starting to travel in America, they have a Tesla Vision package, i.e. they do not have radars and decisions are made solely on the basis of the images from the cameras. At first glance, they are no different from their older sisters, but their software works a little differently. For example, they do not always allow you to change the settings of the wipers and lights.

The first changes reported by users were discovered by Drive Tesla Canada. Well, brand new, received in May 2021 and produced after April 27, 2021, Tesla Model Y with Tesla Vision does not allow changing the speed of the wipers when the autopilot is driving:

In addition, in cars with Tesla Vision, it really is disabled Avoiding driving out of the lane. According to Tesla, it needs to be activated via a software update:

No radar cars see less at night... In order for the autopilot to be active, the high beam headlamps must work in automatic mode, that is, they must always turn on when there is no risk of dazzling someone. From this point of view, it becomes clear why Tesla began a few months ago to move from light sources covering large areas (we called them "sector"), to matrix lights that can obscure parts of the field:

The requirement to automatically turn on the high beam is rather cryptic compared to the changes that have taken place on Tesla's website. Well, the manufacturer has assured that abandoning the radar and relying on the images from the cameras can allow you to increase the range that goes into the analysis of the Tesla computer. The problem was that the radar was working at a distance of 160 meters, and the car was visible from cameras. do 250 meters:

Elektrowoz readers (eg Bronek, Kazimierz Wichura) drive Tesla vehicles around Poland equipped with radar, but they also noticed a slightly different behavior of the vehicles. After installing the latest software designed for Tesla Vision and FSD v9, they notice that cars do not brake for no reason in random places (phantom braking) as they did before. However, they are more sensitive to bad weather.
