Updates for Volkswagen ID.3 1st in Poland will be organized in February / March 2021. Owners: still bugs

One of our readers informed us that he received a preliminary message from Volkswagen Poland about a software update in VW ID.3 1st. The salons are expected to reach customers in February/March - but he's already worried that the update will fix some problems and cause others.

Painful update VW ID.3 1st. Later, it should be downhill, via the Internet.

The email shows that more information on this will be available in February/March [in February/March? February and March? – ed.], which means that the updates will probably begin in full swing in March. In addition to working augmented reality features (1st Max only), buyers will receive:

  • navigation, including charging points along the route,
  • electronic user manual with voice search by topic,
  • listening option Internet radio stations,
  • Car2X support, that is, the function of communication of the car with other road users and infrastructure,
  • the ability to schedule the inclusion of the air conditioner before the trip.

However, at least some car owners who have already had their software updated complain that the update brings new problems. Norwegian VW ID.3 buyer 1st sees a bug in Active Cruise Control (ACC). His car's odometer does not display temperature, time, or charging information, but it does display a "Warnings and messages not available" message:

In turn, the big advantage of the new firmware is the ability to download subsequent versions via the Internet, without having to visit websites and leave the car there for a day - at least this is the result of initial statements. Thus, Volkswagen ID.3 will become similar to Tesla, in which the software is supposed to be installed only remotely via the Internet.

Volkswagen ID.3 1st costs in Poland from PLN 194, Volkswagen ID.390 (not 3st) - from PLN 1. Both models are equipped with a 155 (890) kWh battery and 58 kW (62 hp) motors driving the rear wheels.
