2021 Honda CR-V Review: VTi 7 Snapshot

If you're looking for a seven-seater on a budget, the 7 Honda CR-V VTi 2021 might be just the thing for you. It starts at $35,490 (MSRP), which is only $2000 more than the five-seat VTi below it.

The VTi 7 model is powered by the same 1.5-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine as all models with VTi in the name in the 2021 CR-V lineup, and has 140kW of power and 240Nm of torque. In this spec, it's front-wheel drive, but like all CR-Vs, it comes with a CVT automatic transmission. Claimed fuel consumption for this class is 7.3 l/100 km.

The VTi 7 is the cheapest way to get a seven-seat CR-V, and with this update, for the first time, you'll be able to get a three-row version of this Honda midsize SUV with Honda Sensing's suite of active safety technologies. , which includes forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, as well as lane keeping assist and lane departure warning. However, there's no blind-spot monitoring, no rear cross-traffic, no rear AEB, and you get a rear-view camera but no parking sensors. The CR-V lineup retains its 2017 ANCAP five-star rating, but no CR-V version will receive five stars under 2020 criteria.

The VTi 7 model has 17" alloy wheels, cloth seat trim, 7.0" touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, 2 USB ports, quad-speaker audio system, digital instrument cluster with digital speedometer, dual-zone climate control. It has halogen headlights and LED daytime running lights, as well as LED taillights.

The VTi 7 model also has keyless entry and push-button start, an eight-speaker stereo, four USB ports (2 front, 2 rear), tailpipe trim, adaptive cruise control.

The optional two rear seats take up 50 liters of luggage space with five seats in place (472 liters VDA) and 150 liters (VDA) of cargo space with seven seats up. It also adds rear row vents, two additional cup holders and a third row curtain airbag, and third row top cable hooks in the boot floor.

If you want a cheap seven seater this is a really good option.
