2021 Lexus IS Review: IS350 Snapshot

The IS350 is the flagship model in the 2021 Lexus IS lineup and, unlike the previous model, is now only available in the F Sport trim.

It feels very fitting, as it's the most powerful engine in the lineup, and the F Sport name fits here better than anywhere else in the lineup. It is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with 232 kW and 380 Nm of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and rear-wheel drive. Claimed fuel consumption is 9.5 l/100 km.

The IS350 F Sport costs $75,000 (MSRP) and comes pretty well for the money. It has a body kit, 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, cooled sports front seats (plus heated and electrically adjustable, plus driver seat memory settings), sport pedals and five drive modes, a 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster and leather trim.

This is in addition to other standard equipment: automatic LED headlights with automatic high beams, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry with start button, 10.3-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering column is power adjustable, there is dual-zone climate control, rain sensors and adaptive cruise control.

Buying the F Sport Enhancement Pack for the IS300 costs $3100 and includes a sunroof, a 17-speaker audio system, and a rear sun visor. If only you could get stereo!

The safety specs are well considered: AEB includes pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking, lane keeping assist, junction turn assist and new Lexus Connected Services for emergency backup.
