The 2.0i is the starting point in Subaru's XV line of small SUVs with four variants, with an MSRP of $29,690.

Even though it has some major omissions, it still has decent performance compared to rivals such as the Hyundai Kona, Kia Seltos, Toyota C-HR and Mitsubishi ASX. The all-wheel drive system is particularly impressive, but the base XV also has a 6.5-inch multimedia touchscreen with wired support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4.2-inch control screen and a 6.3-inch information screen, and 17-inch alloy wheels. with an updated design for 2021, as well as keyless entry and push-button ignition.

The 2.0i is the only XV with a smaller screen and simpler interior trim. The base XV also lacks the excellent EyeSight safety package that includes key elements of active safety, but even the base XV has seven airbags and a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating by 2017 standards.

The base XV is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine with 115 kW/196 Nm and a combined fuel consumption figure of 7.0 l/100 km. The XV can drink 91 octane unleaded gasoline and has a 63 liter fuel tank.

All XV variants have relatively large interiors and seats with decent storage space, while all variants also have small trunk volumes of 310 liters (VDA) for the non-hybrid or 345 liters for the hybrids.

Subaru covers the XV range with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and five-year limited-price service.
