The most important functions of the Opel OnStar system:

With the launch of OnStar, Opel is taking the next step in connecting cars to the internet. OnStar is already setting standards in the automotive industry with web-based security and protection solutions, enhanced mobility services and advanced information technology. Opel will make the service available in 13 European countries this summer: Belgium, Germany, France, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain. A little later, the system will cover other countries. Customers will be able to use the full range of Opel OnStar services and Wi-Fi hotspot free of charge for the first 12 months after registration. Today, OnStar has over 7 million customers in the US, Canada, China and Mexico. They can use features such as 4G LTE connectivity, emergency assistance, and smartphone remote control.
