I'll tell you about my experience in operating a VAZ 2105 or "Five", as the people say. I got a working fifth model of the Zhiguli at the beginning of 2011, of course they didn’t give me a new one, but it seemed to be fresh, except for the left padded wing. You can't really see it in the photo below:

And besides that, there are a few problems with the chassis, steering, and a broken headlight. But all this was done to me immediately at the expense of the company, and I had a repaired VAZ 2105 car of snow-white color with a 21063-liter model 1,6 injection engine. The gearbox was naturally already 5-speed. The run of the Five at the time of presentation was 40 thousand kilometers. But I had rather long trips every day, 300-400 km. As I said, at my first MOT, the steering column was tightened, the ball joints, the left caliper and the front brake pads were changed. Nobody began to repair the body, apparently they regretted the money, they didn't even replace the broken headlight with a new one, but I solved this issue by temporarily putting plastic covers on the headlights from my old Five.

After several months of flawless operation, the mechanic gave me two completely new headlights, but I did not change both, since the second was in good condition. For a year of operation, of course, I had to change a couple of bulbs in the headlights, and the glass of one headlight cracked from a stone, but these are all trifles. But the glass, which was a little cracked, gradually got worse and worse. From a small crack, 10 centimeters, probably in a year, the crack spread across all the glass, perhaps 50 centimeters or even more. The photo is not very good, but you can see that the crack on the glass is already almost along its entire length.

The first winter, just when the frosts were down to -30 degrees, I had to drive practically without a stove, then the network worked, but it was enough just not to freeze and not become covered with frost. After the mechanic drove her to the car service, they looked at me and said that everything was fine, forged, but in the end, as it was, it remained. So I drove in almost a cold car all winter. Already in the spring, the faucet was closed on the stove, left the office and after driving a few kilometers felt a strange smell, looked to the right, and antifreeze was flowing from under the glove compartment, it began to fill the entire casing. I am quick to the service, it is good that it was at hand. Replaced the faucet, drove off again. For my second winter, they again drove my horse for repair with a stove. But the result is the same, nothing has changed. Later, when the management called the service and explained the situation, they made the stove all the same, completely changed the stove radiator, stove faucet, fan and the entire body. All put on a new one. I could not get enough of it when I got into the car, the heat was just unreal, as I only drove like this before. And at a speed of 80-90 km / h, the fan did not turn on at all, the heat was even from the air flow.

During all this time, the valve burned out, since the car was operated on gas, it was replaced, although it traveled on the burned-out valve for more than a month, while it waited for repairs. But this was also my fault, I often had to drive 120-140 km / h, since I had to hurry to the office. But basically I kept a cruising speed of 90-100 km / h, and before the ascent and on a good track, I gassed 120 km / h.

 When the mileage of my Five was approaching 80 thousand, I insisted on replacing the rear rods, after lengthy conversations, all the rods were completely replaced and new ones were installed, and the rear shock absorbers were replaced only after 10 km.

That is, in principle, all that had to be replaced during the entire operation period of my working VAZ 2105, and this mileage was 110 km. I think that there were no special problems for such a solid mileage, considering also the fact that the oil with filters was sometimes changed after 000 thousand km. The car ran more than a hundred thousand kilometers with dignity, and never let me down on the road.

    Tachila track, I rewound more than 300 thousand km on this while I made the engine capital, so another hundred poods of 150-200 thousand more leaves without straining if you look! The injector, of course, is a very good thing for the classics, in any frost it starts without problems, cannot be compared with the carburetor one, and the fuel consumption is much less than that of the carburetor one.
