Paris – E-bike should become an everyday mode of transport

In an interview with the newspaper La Tribune, Christophe Najdowski, Deputy Mayor of Paris (elected by EELV), wants to make the city the “world cycling capital” and puts the electric bike at the heart of his strategy.

“The obvious solution is an electric bicycle,” emphasizes a “cyclist” from the city of Paris in an interview published by La Tribune on August 9. “The electric bike should become an everyday mode of transport. There is great potential here,” he stressed.

Express track for bicycles

If the city is already helping to buy electric bikes for up to 400 euros, the city of Paris also wants to develop cycling infrastructure. “The idea is to very quickly create a very structured network with a north-south axis and an east-west axis for bicycles,” emphasizes Christoph Najdowski, reminiscent of a kind of “Express Network” for bicycles.

On the parking issue, the elected official announced that he is working on “secure parking solutions” that can be implemented in both public spaces and secure boxes.
