Moving around the city with the help of the application

We present an overview of applications that will help you navigate the city without any problems.

 Uber

An app that has caused a lot of confusion in Poland. This is to facilitate ordering a taxi or other available road transport. However, taxi drivers consider this a source of unfair competition and a threat to their work. When we need transport, we launch the application, decide on which transport we want to get to our destination, also select and see on the map whether the desired vehicle is approaching us and how. In cities where Uber has become widespread, the waiting time for transport is usually only a few minutes.

You can also pay for transportation using this application. The fee will be automatically deducted from your credit card. Uber is estimated to be about five times cheaper than regular taxis. Let's add that the driver involved in the system receives 80 percent of each course, and the company that manages the application receives 20 percent. The service is currently available in over 40 countries.

Mytaxi

The principle of mytaxi is quite simple. When viewing the map, you can select the nearest taxi and determine your destination. Payment is also made directly in the application. As you can see, it works similarly to Uber, with the difference - for many huge - that we are talking about real taxis and professional taxi drivers, and not about everyone who has a car and reports on the work of a driver in the system.

The application is equipped with the "favorite driver" function. This allows you to see the estimated losses. You can even order a taxi to a specific address a few days before your planned trip. In addition, the integration of the application with GPS and Google maps allows the passenger to track the ordered taxi.

The app uses a peer-to-peer connection that provides direct contact between driver and passenger without the need to call the switchboard. The mytaxi driver works independently, does not pay a subscription for using the mytaxi system and does not incur any additional costs associated with renting or purchasing the necessary equipment - he only needs a smartphone. The developers of the application report that there are already several thousand taxis with the mytaxi logo in Europe.

SkyCash

If you have chosen public transport, it would be nice to be able to buy tickets quickly and easily. SkyCash is a universal system of instant mobile payments. It allows, among other things, to pay for parking, tickets for public and railway transport, as well as for visiting a cinema, and allows you to transfer money between cells. Application developers provide security at the level of electronic banking.

Thanks to the application, we no longer have to rush to the kiosk or ticket machine. All you need to do is to take your chosen bus, tram (or even metro if you are visiting Warsaw) and immediately buy the ticket of your choice. Through SkyCash, public transport tickets can be purchased in the capital, Poznan, Wroclaw, Rzeszow, Lublin, Bydgoszcz, Pulawy, Biala Podlaska, Inowroclaw, Radom, Stalowa Wola and Lodz. The account in SkyCash can be integrated with a payment card, thanks to which the user is relieved of the need to constantly replenish it. However, if someone decides not to, they can fund their in-app account with a bank transfer.

JakDojade.pl

Taxi and even Uber are solutions for people with a richer wallet in the long run. Typical urban travel means for most non-motorized people mostly contact with public transport. The JakDojade.pl application is focused on them, as it supports all the largest Polish agglomerations.

Basically it offers timetables for all modes of transport available in a given area. It also allows you to make travel plans in the following options: comfortable, optimal or fast. Travel planning for Warsaw and its surroundings includes all buses, trams, metros, high-speed city railways and the regional lines of Koleja-Mazowiecki running here. A few minutes of waiting for transport and walking are usually added to the estimated travel time based on the timetable.

The application is divided into three main elements - tabs: Schedules, Scheduler and Navigator. Schedules are searched by rows. The planner works by choosing a location, and it doesn't have to be stops; you can also use the map. Navigator is another form of Planner that uses the user's location in the field. JakDojade.pl is available on Android and iOS platforms in free and paid versions. Purchasing the latter option frees the application from advertising, allows you to use the desktop widget and receive information about upcoming departures from the selected stop.
