This weekend, from March 27 to 28, 2021, we will change the time from winter to summer. Do car clocks change automatically? Not always.
When will the transition from winter time to summer time take place in 2021?
In Poland we change the time twice a year. On the last weekend of March we switch to daylight saving time. Winter time starts on the last weekend of October.
This weekend we are changing our clocks to daylight saving time. Then we sleep an hour less because we set the hands of the clock from 2.00:3.00 to XNUMX.
Currently, the division into winter and summer time is used in about 70 countries around the world.
How to change the clock in the car? This applies to old cars.
In older cars, just a few movements with a small hand in the right direction and you're done - the clock shows the correct time. This is the case, for example, in the older Skoda Fabia. The clock is set using a knob on the dashboard.

Later, instead of handles, buttons appeared, and in this case, you also do not need to refer to the instructions to change the time. This solution was used, for example, in Suzuki Swift.
And then more and more electronics began to appear in cars.
How to change the clock in the car? Is it needed in new cars?
On newer models, the clock should reset automatically. This happens in several ways without our intervention.

At Audi, for example, clocks are set based on radio signals from atomic clocks.
- Via GPS
GPS satellite signals are used to set the correct time. Such technology is used, for example, by Mercedes.
In this case, the time is corrected based on the RDS signals emitted by most VHF radios. This system is used in some Opel models.
How to change the clock in the car? Sometimes the instruction manual comes in handy
If the clock in our car has not changed by itself and we do not know how to do it, the best thing to do is to refer to the car's owner's manual.
In the Ford Fiesta, the time is set using the audio display control panel, while in the Volkswagen Golf VI, the clock is set using the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel. For the BMW 320d, you must use the corresponding functions in the iDrive system.
