First impression: big like for Yamaha Tricity

It has been a long time since Piaggio tricycles achieved success with a renowned Japanese manufacturer. The Yamaha Tricity is currently only available with a 125cc engine and as such is designed primarily for the city, but as we are used to all the scooters this factory offers to the European market, they also made a great scooter this time around. ...

After a first impression, we can say that the Tricity combines all the good characteristics of a three-wheel design, so it offers excellent position and stability as well as excellent braking performance. In terms of feel and memory, it is even slightly lighter up front than the Italian rivals, and the depth of the corner is similar. Due to the lightness of the front, the scooter easily moves between cars and obstacles encountered by the user of the city scooter. Even when the front wheelset is at two different levels (the bike on the road and the curb), it easily keeps straight ahead and calmly but firmly picks up bumps in the road like other Yamaha scooters.

Over the tens of kilometers that we managed to drive on this rainy day, we noticed that the seat has no support to hold it open, and the front suspension system prevents the scooter from standing still without the help of a side or center stand. Since we are used to touching the ground with our feet at traffic lights, this does not bother us at all.

The price is also interesting and attractive. Currently there is a deduction of € 3.595 125 for Tricity, which is not excessive. It is also bad for Tricity that due to legal provisions it is not approved for driving with the B exam, but the problem of Slovenian legislation in this area affects all XNUMX cc scooters that can be driven with the B exam in some parts of Europe.
