First impression: Through Mallorca with the updated Yamaha MT-09. The suspension is adjustable!
Among the five members of the MT family, the best-selling MT-07 and MT-09.
In recent years, Yamaha has achieved enviable sales results in the European market for the MT motorcycle family. The family is large and currently has five members in terms of the stock of motors. The two middle ones, MT-07 and MT-09, convinced more than 70 percent of customers. Despite its popularity, the three-cylinder MT-09 has undergone dramatic changes in the coming year.
Although the island was warm and sunny, Yamaha and I drove on both dry and wet roads in shady areas, so we had the opportunity to experience almost everything the new MT-09 can do, in practice, and more.
Hey, how do you say “quickshifter” in Slovenian?
How good is the new, now standard quickshifter? Which of the three engine settings is the most appropriate? Does a fully switchable TCS work a lot? Is it true that the engine itself, running on good energy, has not undergone any changes? What's new in terms of ergonomics, how a standard accessory containing over 50 different parts can influence the character of this naturally very dynamic and sporty bike?
The three-cylinder engine is a tech gem, generous with torque that forces the throttle back to let the ears absorb the harsh sound. Why is this engine not louder? Being extremely energetic, it's no surprise that Yamaha commissioned several specialists from the sports department to install a sliding clutch and a fully adjustable front suspension. That's what bothered you about the current model, isn't it? Well, now we know everything about this new goal and we will tell you a lot of details, which he will share in four pages of Autoshop magazine.
