Peugeot 207 CC 1.6 16V Turbo (110 kW) Sport

For those of you who are not quite familiar with Peugeot labels, let me clarify a few abbreviations in the introduction. CC is, of course, the designation for a coupe-convertible, a cute four-seater that can (unless you're four little ones and like damn thin young people who borrowed your sister's car) carry only one passenger, and RC is the most powerful projectile with "175 power horsepower”, the 207 family. The fact that sportiness is in the genes is evidenced by the record among front-wheel drive cars on our test track in Raceland. However, if we combine the worlds of wind and sports (our test CC had the same engine as the RC, but 15 "horsepower" less), we get RCC.

For the Peugeot 207 CC, its predecessor is an ideal that it most likely will not achieve. The 206 CC sold very well and was a real favorite with female drivers. Namely, it was the first small coupe-cabriolet that was mostly fun and enjoyable, and it was only at number 20 on the list that we could find usability. You know what girls say, beauty is worth suffering for.

That's why there are also shoes with such high heels that the average big girl switches between basketball and volleyball. Well, with CC, the engine will definitely not suffer. From the 1-litre space in the cylinders of the Peugeot engine, together with their German counterparts in BMW, they extracted as much as 6 kW or 110 hp. with a powerful turbocharger, which - you can believe it - is more than too much for a small CC. It starts jumping from 150 rpm and the factory promises the wind will blow you from zero to 1.800 km/h in just 100 seconds.

The engine is great: it is flexible enough for the right hand to rest, and at the same time it is jittery, so that the same hand quickly becomes sweaty. Its only drawback could be fuel consumption. A good 11 liters, as much as we produced in the test, could easily be better than a liter, but then we can rightly ask ourselves: did you miss the point when choosing an engine? However, the driver's license will again not be happy with the drivetrain.

Peugeot is betting on a five-speed gearbox that doesn't hurt driving dynamics thanks to its excellent engine, but the highway becomes a little tedious (and wasteful). Again, we are unhappy with its imprecision and especially the aluminum on the gear lever. It is hot in summer, cold in winter and especially slippery if driving gloves are not worn during dynamic driving.

But we were delighted with the location. Assuming all convertibles have worse torsional performance than "regular" hardtops, a 207 with good tires is a real shot that loves fast paved corners. Despite considerable body skew, the chassis is capable of high speeds, the brakes only kick in after a few hours of torture, and the steering is precise, though I would have liked more direct contact with the road in dynamic driving.

But since CC is primarily aimed at women, we know why this is the decision. The seats are shell-shaped and fit perfectly to the body, the gauges are beautifully laid out with a white background and are transparent. But then again, we wonder why the driver cannot turn off ESP completely. Well, you can basically turn it on (at a lower speed), but soon it turns on automatically. For a sports car, this is a disadvantage.

The roof is electrically movable, so there is no need to remove the hand safety pins or put any extra pressure on the switch that controls the windows. Just press the button (which controls the roof and windows) located between the front seats and the sky will show you all its greatness. Of course, we recommend installing a windscreen to restrict air turbulence, but don't trust the assurances that you won't need a hairdresser.

Safety in favor of the rear seats shines with a chrome bow, four airbags not to be forgotten, and comfort is good for the automatic air conditioning and radio with CD player (steering wheel controls, MP3 playback capability).

CC can be RCC. So it's better if you count sportiness (better position, more jumps, more athletic equipment) among qualities. However, despite its modern build, plenty of space and freshness in design, the 207 CC will (very likely) never reach the 206 CC sales figures as it was once the only small CC and is now on offer. some competitors.

evaluation

  • The Peugeot 207 CC Sport combines two worlds with a new 1,6-liter turbocharged engine. With it, you can enjoy a leisurely roofless ride in Portorož or imagine a sports coupe and become the fastest on the mountain serpentines. It all depends on your right index finger (roof), right foot (gas), and passenger (liquid). But if it's really bad, then there are a lot of hitchhikers against Primorye ...
