Peugeot EX1 sets new record at the Nurburgring

The Peugeot EX1, which already holds several acceleration records, is an experimental sports electric car from manufacturer Peugeot, but has just added another one to its roster. This meteor recently attacked the northern loop of the legendary Nüburgring, a track where it was voted the fastest electric vehicle ever driven. Peugeot's electric prototype, which clocked in at 9 minutes 1.3 seconds, once again demonstrates that electric mobility is easily associated with motorsport.

During its presentation at the Paris Motor Show last year, the EX1 made a splash among EV professionals in both looks and performance. With 340 horsepower from two electric motors (distributed on the front and rear axles) and a futuristic design, this race car quickly went from being a simple concept to a record breaking car.

Even though EX1 already had several records to his credit, several people suggested that he had never actually faced a high-demand track. Done: the racing car has proven itself on the legendary northern ring of the Nüburgring. The best time displayed by EX1 is 9:01.3. XNUMX. To complete this journey, the manufacturer Peugeot decided to put Stéphane Kaye behind the wheel of the car.

Meanwhile, the EX1 takes the MINI E out of the pantheon of the world's fastest electric vehicles.
