Piaggio MP3 250

Sixty years have passed since Piaggio introduced the Vespa to the world, a revolutionary vehicle that changed the world. Well, to be more precise, the great ones have a mode of transport. With the MP3 tricycle scooter, we are experiencing a new turning point. Piaggio is one step ahead of the competition and thus only confirms its superiority in the world of scooters.

Maxiscooter on the outside has already become something special. This is not the tricycle we have known until now (a pair of wheels in the back, one wheel in the front), but the order of the wheels is exactly the opposite. At the front there are two separately mounted wheels (as in the automotive industry), which, using hydraulics, a crank system and a parallelogram mount (using four aluminum arms supporting two steering tubes), allow you to tilt. bend. Therefore, it tilts just like a regular scooter or motorcycle.

It's just as easy. The only difference is that it is significantly safer than conventional two-wheeled vehicles as it is always supported on three wheels. This way he will not be able to roll over. With it, you can drive almost as fast as on dry asphalt, on a wet or sandy road. We tested the front wheel suspension well during our test, as the bumpy and wet old "Schmarskaya" road was a perfect winding polygon.

But, in addition, the MP3 has another big plus: when braking, no scooter known to us comes close to it. When we braked completely on the wet and slippery asphalt, nothing happened, but he stopped surprisingly quickly and a short distance to a stop. Piaggio even claims that braking distances are 20 percent shorter compared to classic scooters.

The eco-friendly four-stroke engine (250 cc, electronic fuel injection) pulls well and easily reaches the final 140 km / h, it's only out of breath when driving uphill, but if we expected more from it, that would be unfair.

MP3 boasts all the advantages of a classic maxi scooter, has a large trunk under the seat (inside a helmet and a bunch of equipment), good wind protection and, most importantly, maintains maneuverability in urban environments. The width does not matter, it is equal to the width of the rudder.

The scooter, which costs a decent 6.000 euros, is not cheap, but somewhere you need to know about such safety, innovation and modern technology. We say it is worth every euro only if you can afford it.
