Dream pit bike 666 / EVO 77

This is already the case when the desire for motorcycles is in the blood of men and that there is almost no boy in elementary school who would at least quietly dream of a motorized car on two wheels. Parents most often cite danger as the main reason against this, but for financial reasons, not everyone can afford it, so they often stay with their own desires. Then the boy grows up to be a man, gets married, has children. ... However, by the age of forty, he is recovering and buys such a motorcycle for his son. A week later, after explaining to his wife that his son just needs mobile monitoring and control, he buys another one for himself.

First, let's be clear what we are dealing with. I said earlier that this is a mini-cross, which is actually a delusion. This is not some kind of motocross motorcycle for the little ones, as we meet at the competitions of various championships. It is a "pit bike," an American invention from home garages that has been used as a vehicle in various car races. Even if you are counting on a race today, you will see such a motorcycle in many boxes, in addition to a real race car. To bring the rider to the toilet, the mechanic must collect fuel. ... It's really inappropriate for a rider to go to the toilet, but it still saves time.

We received two pitbikes for testing from the Italian manufacturer Dream Pitbikes. Well, in Italy it is really just the components that are assembled and assigned. Thus, the unit is from the Chinese Lifan, the suspension is from the hands of Marzocchi, and the plastic parts are Italian. Upon closer inspection, we find that this is an above average product, not the Chinese “eggs” that disintegrate on the first jump.

They were especially surprised by the adjustable suspension, hydraulically actuated disc brakes and, in the more advanced model, the clutch, metal fuel cap and high quality plastic parts. Consequently, the price is also slightly higher than the "competitive" motorcycles that we have in our market (just flipping through online ads).

In our test, we were bothered by only two errors: in both models the gas cable was jammed, which sometimes led to abnormally high idles, and gasoline sometimes dripped from the carburetor of the pink "race car". He ruled out both interventions in the home workshop. There were no loose screws, torn gaskets and rusty welds.

The engine does not have an electric start, so you have to kick it with your right foot. We recommend real motocross boots, and juniors seniors, as the four-stroke single-cylinder is not so easy to turn on. When the engine, which runs on pure unleaded gasoline (no oil needs to be blended like on mopeds or small crossovers), warms up, it's time for a fun campaign.

The handlebars, which are quite high, allow an adult to find enough space on the motorcycle, despite its small size. With my good 181 centimeters, I didn't feel cramped at all, only the gear lever was too close to the pedal to shift smoothly in the big motocross boots. The best blue version is big enough for us giants, and the devil's 666 has a smaller frame.

The small size, in addition to the fact that you can easily fit two bikes in a minivan, also has an advantage when something goes wrong - when the top of the slope comes out from under the wheels and you need to turn or push to get the top off own kilowatts.

Don't rely on the ride quality of real motocross and enduro bikes, as the pit bike is not as stable due to the short wheelbase and small wheels, especially on grooved surfaces and at high speeds. And how much does it cost? It does not have a meter, but I would venture to say that in fourth gear it approaches a hundred kilometers per hour.

The power is really enough in terms of weight, and it will easily throw you on your back if you throttle too boldly in first gear. It can cope with the steepest descents if the driver dares and the soil “holds on” enough. You don't have to expect miracles from small brake discs, they can be easily operated with two or even one finger. The suspension is above average for this class, it is not afraid of jumping and even adjustable! In short, a quality player.

Before we fully fuel you for your purchase, there is one more fact we must mention. There is no traffic light in the case and it is much noisier than the Tomos Automatik with its deep sports sound, so any driving in public places is prohibited.

Forest? Yes, Al, that sounds pretty crap to me. Looks like motocross is not for me either. But if you have a van, pickup truck, or caravan at home, or if you live near an abandoned quarry where you don't disturb the hunters and mushroom pickers, one of the test twins could be a real ticket to a motorized world on two wheels.

In shields, it is much safer to turn around on soft ground than to gain experience on the pavement between Hummers, trucks and buses. . Believe me, the terrain is a good school for the road. And it's fun.
