Charging the car at home, we can drive 100 km for about 5 zlotys. They're also cheaper to maintain - no oil to change, no gearbox to break, and brakes wear out more slowly.

Driving comfort is another issue. Driving an electric vehicle is different from driving a standard internal combustion vehicle with a manual transmission. The driving experience is also different - pressing the accelerator pedal delivers smooth power without the lag and interruptions caused by shifting gears in combustion vehicles.

Electric vehicle users can look forward to many amenities, such as the ability to use the bus lane, which saves them time by not having to sit in traffic jams. We can also find free charging stations in an increasing number of locations, which also keeps operating costs down.

Who should choose a used electric vehicle?

First, electric vehicles are not the best option for long distance travel. So it's best for short trips like to work. They can also work well on short trips, especially if you can recharge on site. However, even for further trips, it is much better to choose a car with an internal combustion engine or a hybrid.

The second important issue will be the charging socket. However, this does not mean that you need an expensive station, as in some situations a simple outlet will suffice. Therefore, these cars will work best if we live in a single-family home. It may be more difficult for the residents of the quarter, but sometimes an additional electricity meter can be installed in our parking lot. It's worth checking it out.

The best option for us would be the ability to charge the car at work. There is also the possibility of charging at free stations - but here you often have to queue. So it can only be an add-on, not the main source.

Buying a used electric car - what to watch out for?
