Used Sports Cars: Ford Fiesta ST – Sports Cars

True, there are not so many of them around, but that does not mean that there Ford Fiesta ST it is not a working car, on the contrary. The small one from Ford is powered by an EcoBoost 1.6 turbo engine with 180 hp. and 240 Nm of torque thrown to the ground by the front wheels. 17-inch wheels, 205/40 tires, 1.080 kg weight and 167 hp power / weight ratio. / ton, which is not so little. The Ford Fiesta ST sprints from 0 km / h in 100 seconds and has a top speed of 6,9 km / h, but the numbers don't do it justice.

HARD AND CLEAN

Compared to competitors (Renault Clio RS e Peugeot 208 GTi), the Fiesta ST this is the one that least of all shows its athletic soul, at least when viewed from the outside. There is some sort of ST badge, the rims are larger than usual, and the bumpers are a little more muscular, but overall its appearance is understated. The interiors already say something else: They're Recaro sports seats to start with (a Ford tradition), and the seat is so low that you feel like it's wrapped in the car, giving you a comfortable driving experience.

The pedals are made of aluminum and the letters ST are written on the steering wheel, otherwise it's a regular Fiesta. But not while driving. The granite structure looms after it has driven 20 meters: it spares neither bumps nor hatch, forcing the rail to bounce. The steering also gives you every grain of asphalt and makes you feel connected to the car like some others.

Il engine it picks up revs from 1.500 rpm and does not lose breath even at 6.000 rpm, which is a rarity for turbocharged engines. There seems to be a lot more than the stated 186bhp, and in fact those who tried this car on rollers found some extra bhp. and Nm, which is a pleasant surprise considering that the stamp is paid on a KW basis ...

But more than an engine, it is frame to surprise. The direct and communicative steering is the perfect tool for handling a tough, cohesive vehicle that tends to play with you. The rear end is mobile, not nervous, and will never get you in trouble, it just helps shorten the trajectory by taking your foot off the gas pedal. The Fiesta ST also features a (now more and more pumped up) torque vectoring system that brakes the inside wheel on a turn to reduce understeer, which is really effective and not at all intrusive. The gearbox is great too, precise and with short inoculations.

At normal speeds, you can reach 13 km / L (15 on the main road), but it's hard to resist when you're driving something so fun.
