The first mistake of the car owner in relation to the air conditioning of his car is to turn it on only when it gets hot. In fact, in order to extend the life of the device, it must be turned on at least once a month at any time of the year, even in frosty winter. The fact is that without lubrication, compressor components fail. Rubber-plastic parts dry out and lose their tightness.

And the lubricant is distributed throughout the system along with the refrigerant flow. Therefore, in order for everything in the air conditioner to be, as they say, “on ointment”, it should be turned on regularly for at least a few minutes - even if you are not at all hot.

The second mistake that car owners make when interacting with the air conditioner of their car is the lack of control over the presence of refrigerant in the system.

Like any gas, it inevitably slowly escapes into the atmosphere - simply because mankind has not yet learned how to create absolutely hermetic systems and reservoirs. According to the law of meanness, the fact that the gas has almost completely escaped from the pipelines of the “kondeya” becomes clear exactly when it is urgent to cool the interior of the car. So that such a nuisance does not become an unexpected surprise, the car owner should not be lazy and from time to time monitor the presence of refrigerant in the air conditioning system.

To do this, just open the hood and find on one of the “kondeya” tubes that are available for viewing, a “peephole” specially provided for this purpose - a transparent lens through which you can see: is there liquid (compressed gas) in the pipes or is it not there . Thus, you can know in time that it is time to start refueling the air conditioner.

The third mistake in the relationship with the "refrigerator" in your car is also corrected only when the hood is up. We are talking about monitoring the cleanliness of the cooling radiator (condenser) of the air conditioner.

It usually stands in front of the radiator of the engine cooling system. The problem is that debris and road dust clogs its honeycombs and stuffs into the space between these radiators, greatly impairing heat transfer and reducing the efficiency of both. If this “garbage business” is started, then the “air condo” will stop cooling the air in the cabin. Therefore, first of all, you should periodically monitor the presence / absence of debris between the radiators.

Seeing that he has just begun to appear there and has not yet had time to compact tightly, you can carefully pick out the dirt from the gap between the gratings with a thin plastic or wooden ruler (or another stick that is suitable in thickness).
