Take care of your motorcycle for the winter

It's winter now, have you thought about preparing your mount? If you plan to leave your motorcycle in the garage this winter, follow these tips. They will help you take care of your car before and during the winter.

Tip # 1: keep your battery charged

The most important thing is to take care of your beauty's battery if you do not want to buy it in the spring. To do this, disconnect the battery and charge it regularly. You can purchase a charger, such as the Oximiser 900, which helps keep the battery charged and turns off automatically when the battery is fully charged.

Tip 2: check the coolant

In winter, check the coolant and its antifreeze content to prevent the coolant from freezing. Over time, the fluid loses its antifreeze properties, so it must be replaced every 2/3 years.

Tip # 3: cover your motorcycle

To make your frame survive a peaceful winter, wash and dry it properly, lubricate the chain and clean the brake discs with a suitable degreaser. Then cover the motorcycle with a protective film or motorcycle cover to prevent dust from settling on it.

It is also advisable to place the motorcycle on a center stand or otherwise on a motorcycle workshop stand to preserve the tires.

Tip 4: plan your renovation costs

Any costs can be expected before spring arrives. Take advantage of discounts in January and quieter winters at dealerships to equip your motorcycle.

If you are planning a trip in the winter, prefer new or near-new tires over tires that have reached the end of their useful life. It is also a time to change them and put pressure on them.
