Barbecue accessories - what do you need? Recommended Grill Sets

Grilling is one of the most popular ways to spend time with family and friends in the summer. Cooking on the counter will be faster if all the necessary products and tools are at hand. In this text, we present a list of barbecue accessories that can come in handy during such parties.

Barbecue set - stainless steel cutlery

Cutlery will be useful not only during the feast itself, but also for placing dishes on the rack. Due to the specific conditions of grilling, the grill accessories must be made of materials resistant to high temperatures. Before buying, check if they are not made of plastic that could melt when exposed to very high temperatures.

Forks, tongs, spatulas and grills suitable for grilling use should be made of stainless steel. It is not prone to mechanical damage and is easy to keep clean. Metal accessories heat up quickly, so their handles should be made of a different material. For example, a wooden handle of barbecue cutlery will protect you against burns.

The right length of the barbecue cutlery is also important as it allows them to be maneuvered safely and conveniently close to the fire, and additionally minimizes the likelihood of burns and staining of clothes with hot grease, which is extremely difficult to remove from clothing.

Barbecue apron - comfortable and practical

If you value cleanliness, order and good organization in your workplace, the next item on the list of necessary gadgets can be a decent apron made of durable materials, in which you will not be afraid of frying and splashing grease while cooking. Ideally, it should be equipped with practical pockets where you can put all the necessary accessories so that they are always at hand.

Useful little things - a brush, dishes, cutlery or a blower

While grilling, you will also need various kitchen items, e.g. silicone brush. The model resistant to high temperature, i.e. made of, for example, silicone is perfect for spreading meat and vegetables with a previously prepared marinade. The brush will also allow for the precision of the activities performed - each piece of meat will be covered with an even layer. The best brushes are mounted on a long steel handle. The combination of heat-resistant and non-corrosive materials: silicone and metal makes them dishwasher safe, which makes it much easier to keep them clean.

Crockery and cutlery will come in handy when preparing meals and while eating. You can choose:

  • traditional steel sets - ecological and reusable, but not too light,
  • plastic - disposable and light,
  • Wooden – disposable and ecological, just in time to take it with you to the street.

Don't include plates and cups for everyone in the meeting. Also, make sure the knives are sharp enough so that you can easily cut, for example, a juicy steak.

It is an indispensable accessory charcoal grill blower. Thanks to this, you can easily and quickly ignite coal or a briquette. Made of plastic, the lightweight gadget creates air movement with the help of a small turbine.

A meat thermometer with a skewer is also useful. Thanks to it, you can check whether the larger pieces are not raw inside and whether they have already obtained the right temperature during thermal processing.

Professional grill set - grates for special tasks and their alternatives

Anyone who has ever grilled fish knows that it is quite an art. At such a moment, accessories in the form of grates for the preparation of a specific type of food will be irreplaceable. The models available on the market differ in size, shape and mesh density. The fine mesh wire rack is used to conveniently prepare delicate foods such as fish or minced meat. Models with a slightly thinner mesh are suitable for grilling pieces of meat - steaks and sausages.

The grates also differ in shape: you can prepare fish on the oblong and oval ones, and more pieces of meat on the universal, rectangular and round ones. Attached to long handles, they ensure safety during use. Thanks to such practical gadgets, you can easily prepare even the most demanding dishes.

Disposable aluminum trays - a cheap replacement for grates

Aluminum trays are comfortable to use, especially when grilling outdoors. They are an alternative to special gratings, and in some situations they are the only possible solution. In addition, they are cheap and versatile, but it is worth remembering that this is not an eco-friendly solution. It is much better to opt for reusable grills that can be used for years. In addition, the fat remaining in the disposable trays due to the temperature causes the release of harmful compounds during grilling, and food placed on them may stick.

What instead of a lattice? BBQ mat

A fiberglass grill mat can be a practical replacement for grates and trays. The food placed on it does not stick, and thanks to the fine-mesh grid on the grill, even small pieces of tender meat can be easily fried.

Necessary accessories for all-year-round grill - gas and electric

Accessories for an electric or gas grill, which should also be among the essentials, include suitable brushes for cleaning surfaces.

Inexpensive and reliable charcoal grill brush, equipped with different surfaces: steel scraper, wire brush and polyurethane sponge, in combination with the appropriate detergent makes it easier to keep the grate clean. The grill is easiest to clean while it is still slightly warm, as dried grease and dirt can make it difficult to clean. A specially designed comfortable handle of the appropriate length will help you clean the grill efficiently. Regular and effective removal of fat residues prolongs the effect.

Complete the set with essential BBQ accessories: stainless steel cutlery with wooden handle, special grates, blower, cleaning brushes and more. With their help, you will prepare a real holiday for your friends or relatives. A special apron will prevent burns and keep clothes clean. After you have finished grilling, do not forget to clean the grate with a scraper.
