A decrease in airflow is a sign that there are obstacles in the way of air into the vehicle that must be removed.

Air is necessary for the operation of the ventilation, heating or air conditioning system. Can circulate in the internal circuit or be attracted from outside all the time. In the first case, air circulation must be forced by a fan, and in the second, the movement of the car is enough to get air inside. The faster the car goes, the higher the airflow intensity. If it is not enough, it can be increased by using the mentioned fan with several speeds to choose from.

The decrease in airflow caused by the speed of movement cannot be immediately detected, because this process usually proceeds slowly. Only after some time we realize that we run the fan more and more often, although we did not have to use it before.

In cars equipped with a cabin filter, it is this filter that becomes the main suspect in the fact that air enters the cabin with increasing resistance, which gradually settles on the filter material in the form of impurities. If there is no such filter on the car, or after removing it, it turns out that it is still suitable for further operation, you should check the fit of the air intake to the ventilation system. Dried leaves and dirt trapped there can make it difficult or even impossible for air to flow. After cleaning, the system should restore the lost efficiency.

In cars that are at least a decade old, a large amount of dirt on the outer surfaces of the heater core can also be the cause of weakened airflow. An additional symptom in this case is a decrease in the intensity of heating, since the dirt makes it difficult for the flow heater to absorb heat.
