If you are looking for a used Hummer vehicle, you can check out the vehicles through their Certified Used Program. Many manufacturers have a Certified Used Car Program (CPO) and each is set up differently. Read on to learn about the features of the Hummer CPO program.

Certified used Hummer vehicles are covered by the GM Motors CPO Program, which still owns the now defunct brand. The most recent Hummer was released in 2010 and is currently subject to GM's requirements that CPO vehicles must be no older than six years and have less than 80,000 miles on them. Vehicles covered by this program come with an extended six-year or 100,000-year limited powertrain warranty.

Inspection

To ensure that all certified used vehicles are safe to drive, Hummer puts all CPO vehicles through a 172-point test that includes the following procedures:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Checking tires and brake pads
  • Interior detailing
  • Road test
  • Inspection of the engine compartment
  • Under vehicle inspection
  • External inspection and detailing

Warranty

Hummer CPO vehicles come with a Powertrain Limited Warranty that covers repair or replacement of major engine, drive system and transmission components for six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. That's on top of the standard 12-month 12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty that covers the entire vehicle for either 12 miles or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first).

The warranty also includes certain benefits, including:

  • Complete CARFAX vehicle history report including service book.

  • Three-month trial subscription to the SiriusXM Satellite Radio All Access package.

  • Three-month trial of OnStar services.

  • XNUMX hour roadside assistance program.

  • A reimbursement program that covers transportation costs in the event your Hummer breaks down.

Prices

Buying a certified used Hummer instead of a used car can affect the price at most dealerships. Net profit will typically be about 8% higher than a typical "used" car.

Compare Hummer to other certified used car programs

Whether or not you choose to use a CPO vehicle, it is always wise to have any used vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing it. A certified used car does not mean that the car is in perfect condition, and any used car can have serious problems that are not visible to the untrained eye. If you're in the market to buy a used car, schedule a pre-purchase inspection for complete peace of mind.
