If you have bought a used Nissan vehicle, you can check the vehicles through their certified used car program. Many manufacturers have a Certified Used Car Program (CPO) and each is set up differently. Read on to learn about the features of the Nissan CPO program.

To qualify as a Certified Used Vehicle, Nissan vehicles must be under seven years old, have less than 80,000 miles, and have a clean vehicle history record.

Inspection

To ensure that all certified used vehicles are safe to drive, Nissan puts all CPO vehicles through a 167-point test that includes the following vehicle systems:

  • ENGINES
  • Охлаждение
  • fuel
  • Transmission
  • Suspension and steering
  • hybrid components
  • Brakes and exhaust
  • Electrical

The inspection also includes a detailed inspection of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, as well as road testing.

Warranty

Nissan CPO vehicles come with a limited warranty that covers repair or replacement due to mechanical failure for seven years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This requires a $50 deductible to attend the service.

The warranty also includes certain benefits, including:

  • Complete CARFAX vehicle history report including service book.

  • A XNUMX-hour roadside assistance program that offers emergency services including:

    • Jump start
    • Flat tire replacement
    • Emergency fuel delivery, up to $5
    • Help with blocking
    • Assistance with towing to the nearest Nissan dealership, up to $100 per copy.
  • Car rental reimbursement up to $35 per day for five days plus trip interruption compensation totaling $500 for each time your vehicle breaks down more than 100 miles from home.

Prices

Buying a certified used Nissan vehicle instead of a used car can affect the price at most dealerships. Net profit will typically be about 9% higher than a typical "used" car.

For example, at the time of this writing in April 2016, Kelly's used 2012 Nissan Altima was valued at $12,550; the same car in the Nissan CPO program costs about $13,650.

Compare Nissan programs with other certified used vehicles

Whether or not you choose to use a CPO vehicle, it is always wise to have any used vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing it. A certified used car does not mean that the car is in perfect condition, and any used car can have serious problems that are not visible to the untrained eye. If you're in the market to buy a used car, schedule a pre-purchase inspection for complete peace of mind.
