Quattro

Quattro is Audi's "all-wheel drive" system, which ensures a constant and dynamic distribution of traction thanks to three 4-wheel differentials, thus ensuring a very high level of active safety.

The system also provides excellent traction in all traction conditions by automatically controlling any skidding. The system has undergone significant changes over time and has slightly different characteristics depending on the model on which it is installed.

Thus, the central differentials have a continuous distribution of torque (primarily used by Torsen), and the peripheral ones are self-locking. In addition to the ESP (which hardly interferes with this system), various traction control systems are integrated: ASR, EDS, etc. In a word, what the four-wheel drive control is is a super active safety system.
