Extended test: Hyundai i30 Wagon 1.6 CRDi HP (94 kW) Style

During this time, we covered 14.500 kilometers - a distance that many people cover in a year. We were with him on the hills, and also photographed him by the sea and magnificent buildings from which the stories of the past come. And because it's shaped like a van, despite being a full-service garage, it's often been the best choice for racing or showroom visits.

Its biggest advantages are ease of use and convenience. If the driver wanted to indulge in a comfortable ride, he ticked off the maximum electric steering assist in the selector, leaving this sporty or mid-range option for clean mountain roads. Some have complained that the seats are even too soft, although most of the positives in this car are the comfortable seats and the ergonomics of the driver's seat. Did we mention earlier how nice it is to treat yourself to the Siberian winter by heating the front seats? If you don't take the kids to school or kindergarten in the morning, the extra charge is worth your money, because then you won't even miss the petrol engine, which heats up the cabin faster than a turbodiesel.

Wondering why so many of us are convinced that Hyundai will go very far with such a design policy? Pay attention to the dynamic characteristics of the front and rear of the car, as well as the varied interior, which at the same time is quite logical. Perhaps the aesthetes will raise their nose just above the ridge of the thigh, since the wing arches are rounded in the "Korean style". But the dynamic grille, which runs through the folds of the body above both side hooks and ends at the taillights, is a full hit. We even redesigned the exterior a bit over the course of two weeks, as our local Hyundai dealer heeded our desire for a larger trunk and fitted crossmembers to the super test car (€ 224).

Then, in the Auto store, we attached a Transcon 42 luggage box to them, which costs 319 euros and increases the basic trunk of the car from 528 to 948 liters (!), Taking into account the carrying capacity of 50 kilograms. The extra hat of "our" Hyundai i30 Wagon did not hurt from the point of view of design, on the contrary, some even preferred to take a look at it. The disadvantages of the optional roof rack were much more noise when driving at speeds above 100 km / h and, above all, slightly higher consumption. If we evaluate quickly, we would say that during this period we used several deciliters of fuel more than without the additional trunk, but this is difficult to determine since the conditions on the road were variable and there were different drivers behind the wheel.

Interestingly, the more powerful of the two bhp-rated turbo diesels with a 1,6-liter turbocharged and charge-air-cooled turbocharged engine was easily bypassed with an average consumption of 5,6 liters, and with the heavier right leg, consumption also rose to 8,6 liters, of course, always 100 kilometers. The average was favorable, as we all together consumed a satisfactory 6,7 liters, which means about 800 kilometers with one tank of fuel, and with moderate driving we reach the figure of 1.000 kilometers. Tempting, isn't it?

An interesting note was made on the way to Milan, where our motorcycle department visited the motorcycle showroom. When four chunky motorcyclists squeezed into the seats (you know, they are usually pretty strong guys) and stuffed their luggage and stuffed things into the trunk, passengers in the rear seats complained about the soft and too loud rear suspension. The comfort in the form of soft cushioning and suspension obviously affects both full load and speed bumps.

In just three months, we have repeatedly praised the position of the rearview camera, although the screen in the interior mirror is more modest, high quality workmanship, safety accessories (including a knee airbag!), Engine refinement, soft steering and transmission precision. ... So don't be surprised that the car exchange key ended up being one of the first in your pocket.
