Battery Destruction in Kii Soul Electric. It looks like 80 percent. capacity will be 2053 [reader]

Our reader, Mr. Wojciech, shared with us the results of his review of his Kii Soul Electric, the predecessor of the Kii e-Soul. A car bought in 2016 lost 2,6 percent with a mileage of 63,2 thousand kilometers. This bodes well for prospects and suggests that this model should show interest in the secondary market.

The Kia Soul Electric has a 27 kWh battery built on SK Innovation cells. Our reader uses it both at work and for personal purposes, which we shared in November 2018. WITH purchase in February 2016 defeated 63 240 kmThus, this is a very similar distance that an average Pole could cover in the same time.

The car is in good condition. His car lost 2,6 percent of its battery capacity (from 100,3 percent to 97,7 percent). If we assume that the acceptable consumption threshold for us is 80 percent of the factory capacity, then He has almost 33 years of driving and 430,5 thousand kilometers left.... By the end of 80, the car will hit the 2053 percent threshold.

Of course, we're assuming a linear decrease in capacity here, but experiments and manufacturer claims so far show that performance drops to this level will almost certainly be linear. The only thing that can happen is the premature death of one of the cells - except that this is unlikely when charging at low power. Plus, the battery is still under warranty.

Our Reader result suggests that Kia Soul Electric could be a car worthy of the aftermarket... Moreover, once the model was offered in Poland, today its second generation (e-Soul) is being sold, so there should be no problems with possible diagnostics and repairs.

The only drawback may be the flight range, which is hundreds and several tens of kilometers, so it is close to the range of the XNUMXth generation Leaf.
