Bjorn Nyland tested Tesla 3 Performance with 20-inch wheels. Driving at a speed of about 90 km / h (92 km / h) on motorways and in good weather, the vehicle traveled 397 km, consuming 62 kWh of energy. This gives the Model 3 Performance version an estimated range of 450-480 km per charge.

Nyland drove first northwest and then southeast on California I-5. The weather was very good (a few degrees Celsius, clear skies), the route ran through the mountains (up to 900 meters above sea level), so the car had to climb hills, but it was in thinner air.

The driver flew out with the battery 97 percent charged because he didn't want to wait for full energy recovery. The ride was uneventful, with the biggest curiosity being the report of Regenerative braking limited, which appeared during a long descent and likely indicated a high temperature in the batteries or drive system.

While driving on asphalt, Nyland measured the noise level in the cab. The decibelmeter showed 65 to 67 dB at 92 km/h (real 90 km/h). So the car was louder than the premium cars that Auto Bild tested - even louder than the Nissan Leaf.

> Noise in the cabin of the Nissan Leaf (2018)? Like in a premium car, i.e. SILENCE!

However, it should be added that the measurements were carried out on different devices in different conditions, so they are reasonably comparable.

After driving 222 kilometers, Tesla consumed 44 percent of the battery's energy and reached the level of 14,2 kWh / 100 km. The car was supposed to reach the Supercharger in Burbank, California at a 5 percent charge level.

When driving at night, it was revealed that the Model 3 Performance has illumination for the legroom, door pocket and glove compartment even while driving. In the European Tesla S and X, this option is only active when stationary.

After a long climb, the average energy consumption has jumped to 17,1 kWh/100 km, the car has already consumed 58 of the approximately 73 kWh of energy and has only covered 336 km. Supercharger consumption was 15,7 kWh/100 km after 396,9 km - battery condition was 11 percent (photo 2). On the way, the car consumed 62 kWh of electricity.

In the end, Nyland figured it out real mileage of Tesla Model 3 Performance in 450-480 kilometers in good weather and a calm ride. Thus, it would be possible to travel by car from Warsaw to the sea, but with very careful pressing of the accelerator pedal. A higher speed will force us to make at least one charging stop.
