In this article, we would like to consider a novelty: the 2019 Renault Arkana is another crossover from Renault. Let's figure out what kind of car it is, with whom it competes, in what trim levels it will be delivered, and most importantly - at what price!
The car in Russia has not yet been released, but they are already beginning to say that this is Duster in a different package, that is, in a new body. The situation is twofold, one can argue why this is the same Duster, and also find a bunch of reasons why this is not so. Let's take a look at the new engine, transmission, interior and of course the exterior in order.
New body Renault Arkana
The car seems to be of impressive size, the wheelbase is increased by 45 mm compared to the Duster and Kaptur, and the length is already 30 cm longer. In fact, this is a different class, closer to Mazda CX-5 и Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage. The ground clearance here is also impressive - 205 mm.
All Arkans will have 17 disks installed, since only the top version has been announced, in this case they are cast (215/60 R17). In the basic configuration, stamped 17 discs will be installed.
Also, LED headlights will be installed on all Arcana. Unlike Capture, Arcana will not have a two-tone body. LED dimensions are installed at the back, all other lighting devices are on lamps.
The rear bumper is lengthened, in fact, due to this, among other things, the length of the car has increased. This leads to the fact that the exit angles at the rear will be slightly smaller, the front will remain unchanged.
The rear-view mirrors have also received a new shape, not like the one on the Kaptur.
Salon Renault Arcana interior
The most important thing to note is that there is nothing left of the Dustera in the cabin. The only thing that matches in the cabin is the all-wheel drive control washer.
Everything else is new and there are 3 main things that attract attention and say that this is no longer a duster:
- Руль... It became smaller, got a new design, high-quality multimedia control buttons.
- Multimedia system... The large display looks impressive, however, the touchscreen area itself is not that large.
- Climate control unit... Convenient three rotating knobs with displays inside, keyboard between and above them. The seat heating control has finally moved to the center panel, instead of being installed on the seats themselves.
The climate control is single-zone, and the base will have an air conditioner.
For the first time on Renault cars of this class, the steering wheel was adjusted, both in height and in reach - for many, this should be a pleasant addition.
The seat adjustment will be only mechanical, there will be no electric drive even at maximum speed, but at maximum speed there will be a multimedia system with its own standard navigation.
Also in expensive versions, you will find a button for the MultiSense system on the panel, with which you can configure the operation of the power unit on the screen, the ease of the steering wheel for yourself. There are modes:
- MySense;
- Sports;
- Echo.
Note that at maximum speed, Renault Arkan will have heating of everything that is possible: front and rear seats, windshield, steering wheel and even an electric cabin heater with a capacity of 1 kW (it will be installed only on 1.3 turbo engines).
A fairly large trunk - 409 liters for the all-wheel drive and 508 for the mono-drive version.
Engine and transmission
The new TСE150 engine was developed by Renault in cooperation with the Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz concern and has a volume of 1.3 liters with a turbocharger, is equipped with direct injection and produces:
- 150 h.p. power;
- 250 Nm of torque.
The indicators are much better than the 2-liter aspirated (there are 143 horses and 195 Nm of torque).
Arkan completely abandoned the 2-liter engine.
Packages and prices
The price of Renault Arcana became known quite recently, and so:
Arcana in the maximum configuration Edition One 4WD will cost 1 rubles... One and a half million for a variator, turbo engine, climate control, 6 airbags and other smaller options.
Mono drive version Edition One 2WD will cost a little less than 1 rubles.
It is worth noting that Edition One is a starter limited version, that is, a kind of promotion, cars for which are available on pre-order, and after entering serial sales, prices may differ from those indicated - keep this in mind!
Also, I would like to note that Renault has not yet announced the price of the base version.
