What is a classic rail and what is it for

- addition to the exterior as an element of appearance, not functionality.
It is logical, for example, that a driver who goes fishing will not transport the boat to a regular trunk. Here the roof rails, which can withstand quite a serious load, also save. Separately, it is worth mentioning that some tuning fans appear on the cross rails with the addition of lighting or even sound equipment.
There are many types of railings. They are entitled to the material of production (steel, aluminum, metal-plastic). At the same time, the device perfectly resists the external environment and cargo pressure. In addition to this, the market is flooded with universal designs, which, according to the idea of manufacturers, are suitable for various models and brands. Despite the higher cost, experts do not recommend using them (universal mounts can be easily dismantled without the knowledge of the owner). Therefore, it is better to choose roof rails for Nissan Qashqai.
Installing the fixture
This moment is the most problematic. Nissan Qashqai (like X-Trail) does not have seats for roof rails. Therefore, the owner of the car will have to take over the management of personnel with a body of his own.
- Dismantle all elements of the ceiling (ceiling handles, central ceiling light, seat belt ceiling mounts, sun visors, central ceiling light, and so on).
- Remove the roof moldings and plastic clips.
- Mark the holes to be drilled using the attached rails.
- The drilling points are surrounded by masking tape so as not to damage the surrounding paintwork.
- Make a hole under the railing mount with a drill, and process the hole with anti-corrosion
- Apply silicone or similar sealant to the seating side of the new part and secure through the honeycomb.
- Install plastic clips.
- Assemble the interior parts in reverse order.
