Christmas tree

In the December issue of Młodego Technika we have added a postcard with a Christmas tree. The Christmas tree can light up with colorful lights and you don't need money, special skills or a soldering iron.

Everyone can light the garlands on the Christmas tree!

  1. Using a pin, needle or compass, make holes in the marked places on the card.
  2. We fasten the red LED to the top of the Christmas tree and 6 yellow LEDs to the branches by threading the legs of the LED into the holes made in the first step. Each LED has one leg longer and the other shorter; on the side of the shorter leg, the LED is cut off. On the diode symbol, the place where the shorter leg should be is also marked with a cut.
  3. Bend the legs of the LED, as shown on the back of the postcard, in the direction marked by the blue line, symbolizing the connection of the elements. Elements more distant from each other should be connected with wire.
  4. We mount the resistors according to the picture on the postcard (we identify them by the colors of the stripes) and also connect them to the resulting circuit according to the markings on the back of the postcard.
  5. We assemble the transistor in a truncated position, as shown in the picture on the postcard.
  6. We assemble the battery connector. Connect the black wire to the place marked "-" and the red wire to the place marked "+".
  7. Fold the cardboard along the dotted line. This bend under load with a battery connected to the connector will serve as the base of the tree (9V battery not included, must be purchased).
