Steering system Knocking in the suspension, especially in the front, should be diagnosed as early as possible, as it can threaten driving safety.

A common cause of knocking is play in the steering system.

Knocking can be caused by the steering gear, tie rods or tie rod ends. Typically, connecting rod ends wear out the most and fastest. Fortunately, there are many replacements of very good quality and at decent prices, so repairs will not be expensive. Steering system

Replacing the tip is very easy. The only difficulty may be to break the conical connection or unscrew the corroded threads from the stem. However, you will have to go to the service station for a replacement, since after replacing the tips you need to set the geometry, and this requires special tools. Therefore, if one tip is worn out, it is worth replacing both at once.

Another commonly worn item is the tie rods. With the replacement, everything is different, since it depends on the design of the gearbox and the amount of space in the engine compartment. If access is available and the rods are screwed in, this replacement can be done without dismantling the gearbox from the vehicle.

This is not a particularly complex operation, so each service must perform it. However, when pressing the steering rods, there is nothing left but to disassemble the gearbox and return it to a specialized workshop that deals with this type of repair.

Such repairs must be done professionally and professionally, because only then will we be able to use the car without worrying about our own safety.

Knocking can also come from sagging bars. However, it can be canceled by screwing in a special screw. If this is not enough, you need to replace the rack rack. In most cases, the gearbox must also be removed for this operation, and if the rods are not unscrewed, the gearbox must also be taken to a specialist workshop.

During the repair, you also need to check the rubber covers. Damaged ones must be replaced as soon as possible, because the gearbox is very sensitive to dirt.

It is not worth buying used transmissions, because the real technical condition can only be assessed after installation on a car. If the old gear cannot be repaired or the repair is very expensive, then it is better to pay extra and buy the gear after regeneration. Then we have a fully functional gearbox and additionally with a guarantee.
