Self-service: Bird electric scooters land in Paris

A month after the launch of Lime, Bird, in turn, is investing in the streets of the capital, offering public electric scooters.

Officially launched on Wednesday 1 August, the new service is currently focused on the third arrondissement of Paris and offers several dozen scooters.

« We will then dynamically increase and adapt the number of available vehicles each day according to the usage data.“, Prepared in detail by AFP Kenneth Schlenker, director of Bird France.

Easily recognizable by their red and black color, "Birds" can be detected using the mobile app, a barcode flashing on the phone allows them to get started.

The electric scooters, capable of speeds up to 24 km / h, will be assembled every evening for recharging and repairs before servicing the next day. Also from California, Bird offers prices pretty close to Lime: 15 cents per minute, or 2 to 3 euros for a typical ride.
