The most liquid cars in the secondary market? Liquid secondary

Sooner or later, the car owner has a desire to sell the old car and buy a new one. Even if you have owned a vehicle for no more than three years, you will be surprised to find that the prices for similar models in the secondary market are 20-40 percent lower than the initial cost. Trade-in stores will offer even lower prices. The cheapest cars with mileage are valued at car pawnshops.

Why is the price dropping so fast? First of all, the wear of parts, as well as the general technical condition, affects. However, if you carefully analyze the used car market, you will notice that prices for some three-year-old models are not declining so quickly. The liquidity of a car, in simple terms, is the ability to sell it with minimal losses. Moreover, some models become even more expensive over time.

What car brands can be called the most liquid at the beginning of 2018? We will try to deal with this issue on our portal Vodi.su.

Premium segment

For analysis, experts studied how prices for cars produced in 2013-2014 change. The following were recognized as the most liquid cars:

  • Jeep Wrangler (101% off original price);
  • Porsche Cayenne (100,7);
  • Mercedes-Benz CLS Class (92%).

Of course, these are premium cars. If you want to buy a 2012-2014 Porsche Cayenne, get ready to shell out an amount of two million rubles or more. Various indicators affect liquidity: equipment, technical condition and characteristics, etc. That is, if a Porsche Cayenne is after an accident, it is unlikely that it will cost so much, but rather large sums will have to be paid for repairs. In addition, the operation of this car is also expensive.

Mass segment

Most buyers are interested in more affordable cars in the mass segment. Places in the rating were distributed as follows (year of production 2013 and percentage of the starting price):

  • Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (99,98%);
  • Honda CR-V (95%);
  • Mazda CX-5 (92%);
  • Toyota Hilux and Highlander (91,9 and 90,5 respectively);
  • Suzuki Jimny and Mazda 6 (89%).

As you can see, the absolute leader is the popular frame SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. If you go to the salon of an official Toyota dealer in Moscow, then the prices for the new Prado range from two to four million rubles. Used cars in 2014 in good condition will cost about 1,7-2,6 million rubles. That is, if within three years the car does not get into an accident, then you can sell it almost at the initial cost.

The following models also got into the rating of the most liquid cars: Volkswagen Golf (89%), Mitsubishi ASX (88%), Renault Sandero (87%). Suzuki SX4, Hyundai Solaris and Hyundai i30 lose approximately 13-14% of the initial price in three years of operation. The cost of such models decreases by about the same amount: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Volkswagen Tuareg, Volkswagen Jetta, Kia Cerato, Kia Rio, Chevrolet Orlando, Mazda troika.

Knowing the place occupied by your car in the ranking, you can always set a more or less adequate price when selling a used car. So, if three or four years ago you bought a Kia Cerato in the Prestige configuration for 850 or 920 thousand rubles at a dealership, then in 2018 you can sell it for 750-790 thousand. These are the prices today for the 2014 Kia cerate.

According to the statement of experts, the places in the rating on the basis of the nationality of the manufacturer are distributed as follows:

  • "Japanese" - the most liquid;
  • "Koreans";
  • "Germans".

Thus, the eternal dispute about which cars are better - German or Japanese, is decided in favor of the land of the rising sun, because liquidity is associated precisely with the reliability of the vehicle. That is, if you prefer Japanese cars, then you will have to spend less on their repair and maintenance than on German ones.

Russian and Chinese cars

The products of the domestic auto industry can hardly be classified as reliable cars. Of course, when it comes to off-road driving, UAZ or Niva 4x4 will leave premium SUVs far behind. But they break down much more often, however, there are no particular problems with spare parts.

If we compare prices for new domestic cars and for old ones produced in 2013, then it can be noted that UAZs and VAZs lose up to 22-28% of their value in three to four years.

You can verify this very easily:

  • the new Lada Grant of 2017 in different trim levels costs 399-569 thousand rubles;
  • new Kalina - from 450 to 579 thousand;
  • new Priora - from 414 to 524 thousand.

If we look for these models on free classifieds sites, we find the following information about prices:

  • Lada Granta 2013-2014 - from 200 to 400 thousand;
  • Kalina - from 180 to 420 thousand;
  • Priora - from 380 and below.

Of course, sellers can take into account their costs for tuning and restyling, but in general the picture is becoming clearer: domestic cars are losing value very quickly.

Well, at the very bottom of the ranking are Chinese cars, which are on average 28-35% cheaper. We analyzed such Chinese brands popular in Russia as Lifan (70-65%), Cheri (72-65%), Great Wall (77%), Geely (65%).

Thus, if you plan to sell a car at a higher price after several years of operation, choose popular and reliable Japanese or Korean cars in the middle price segment.
