The craziest Mercedes-Benz W124 ever

Nowadays, the story about the AMG Hammer or the "Wolf" E500 is no longer surprising. You can of course think back to the E 60 AMG, but there are some pretty crazy Mercedes-Benz W124s in history that you probably haven't heard of. We suggest you fill this gap with models from the gallery below.

S124 station wagon with 7 doors

Have you heard of the S7 124-door station wagon, for example? It was created by the German studio Shulz Tuning, known for its unusual taste. His work includes Range Rover convertibles and a 6-wheel G-Class for Arab sheikhs. And then they took the S124 and did something with 7 doors and 6 seats, a decent trunk and a turning radius like the TIR. These "sausages" are said to have been used as taxis. If the rear passenger got out of the car without paying, the driver would not have noticed.

260 E Limousine with 6 doors

In the early 1990s, Mercedes-Benz spotted this Pullman in a previous photo and decided to work with Binz to prepare a response. The 260 E Limousine was a sedan and couldn't boast a large trunk, but now the cabin could accommodate eight people! The owners of the hotel were delighted.

Boschert B300-24C biturbo

However, the experiments with the E-class doors did not end there. In 1989, Hartmut Boschert was inspired by the legendary 300 SL Gullwing and decided to do something similar with the C124. The result was the Boschert B300-24C Biturbo, a gull-wing coupe with a 320 horsepower biturbo engine. The model costs an unaffordable 180000 euros, so only 11 units were produced. They are assembled at the Zagato plant, known for scandalous changes in sports cars.

300 CE Widebody

If your ideal is not a Gullwing but, say, a Ferrari Testarossa, no problem. On the basis of the same C124, Koenig made the 300 CE Widebody, the main feature of which was the wide body and no less wide OZ R17 wheels. Its power is 345 horsepower, so if you wish, you can compete with its Italian prototype.

Brabus E73

So far, however, everything pales in comparison to the Brabus E73. After all, this is a W124 with a 12-liter V7,3 engine! To accommodate the 582-horsepower monster, the entire front of the car had to be redesigned and the transmission had to be redesigned. This monster accelerates to 100 km / h in less than 5 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches about 320-330 km / h. The successor to the E73 (W210) was affectionately called the "Terminator".
