Strongest Mustang Gets More Power
Shelby American has announced the launch of a modification package for the most powerful version of the Ford Mustang - Shelby GT500. Thanks to them, the V8 engine of the sports coupe already develops more than 800 hp. An upgrade package is also available for the Shelby GT350 version, but it does not include a power increase.
The Carroll Shelby Signature Edition is available for the Ford Shelby GT500 (model year 2020) and the Shelby GT350 (model year 2015-2020). The number of machines that can be converted is only 100 of the two versions.
“The limited edition Carroll Shelby Signature Edition takes into account the amazing capabilities of these vehicles. This makes them more aggressive, refined and exclusive. Each muscle car from this series will receive a unique chassis number and will be entered in the American Shelby registry, which does not include a regular coupe, ”explained company president Gary Peterson.
The two-door Ford Shelby GT500SE gets a carbon fiber trim with air intakes, which reduces the weight of the car by 13,4 kilograms. New wheels, special suspension settings, unique decor, emblems and lines are provided for the car.
The main thing is the refinement of the engine, thanks to which the power of the V8 engine with a volume of 5,2 liters and a mechanical compressor has been increased from 770 to more than 800 hp. This is not surprising after the winter Shelby showed a fastback with a 5,0-liter V8, from which 836 hp was extracted.
The Shelby GT350 comes with pretty much the same trim, but no power increase. The first customers who order cars before August 14 will receive as a bonus an album with photos of their cars, a few days of stay at a hotel in Las Vegas, and a few more pleasant bonuses.
