Annual subscription for 15 euros

The BMW i range now has an extensive charging network. In fact, the manufacturer entered into an agreement with Autolib to allow its vehicles to use electrical terminals distributed throughout France. BMW i3 and i8 owners will be able to top up their account at one of the 4 terminals of the Autolib network. In this way, they avoid the stress caused by the fear of not finding a power source for their car. The Autolib 'Recharge Auto subscription costs 700 euros per year. After paying the subscription fee, the top-up hour is charged at a rate of 15 euros. At night and after hours the ceiling is set at 1 euro. BMW i can currently use charging stations in Ile-de-France, Lyon and Bordeaux.

Anticipate customer needs

The agreement with Autolib should allow BMW to strengthen its presence in the electric vehicle market. A few months ago, the manufacturer did report that it had received nearly 10 orders for its i. He also announced his desire to produce 000 vehicles of this type by 100. Thus, BMW monopolizes part of the French market, knowing that the Tesla Model S is in direct competition with it in the country. The American car, offered for 000 euros, also had some success, as 2020 units have already found buyers worldwide. However, the ability to recharge the car at the Autolib terminals should be an important choice for the German brand. The lack of charging stations remains a major obstacle to purchasing electric vehicles.
