Super-Handling All Wheel Drive or SH-AWD is an all wheel drive and steering system conceived and developed by Honda Motor Company.
The system was announced in April 2004 and introduced in the North American market on the second generation of the Acura RL (2005) and in Japan on the fourth generation of the Honda Legend. Honda describes SH-AWD as a system “…capable of delivering cornering performance with precise driver response and exceptional vehicle stability. For the first time in the world, the SH-AWD system combines front-rear torque control with independently adjustable left and right rear-wheel torque distribution to freely distribute optimal torque between the four wheels according to driving conditions. “
