Chevrolet Lacetti fuses and relays

Chevrolet Lacetti was produced in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 in sedan, station wagon and hatchback body styles. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the description of the Chevrolet Lacetti fuse and relay block diagram, show a photo of the blocks, the purpose of the elements, and also tell you where the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter is located.

Main unit with relays and fuses in the engine compartment

It is located on the left side, between the battery and the coolant expansion tank.

Overall plan

Chevrolet Lacetti fuses and relays

Description of the scheme

Circuit breakers

Ef1 (30 A) - Main battery (circuits F13-F16, F21-F24).

Ef2 (60 A) - ABS.

See F11.

Ef3 (30 A) - stove fan.

See F7.

Ef4 (30 A) - ignition (starter, circuits F5-F8).

If the starter does not turn, also check relay 4 in the bracket under the instrument panel on the driver's side. Make sure the battery is charged and its terminals are secure, place the shift lever in neutral position and close the contacts of the electromagnetic relay near the starter. This will check if the starter is working. If it works, check if the cable is broken. If it does not work, apply voltage to it with separate wires directly from the battery. This will work; most likely a bad contact with the body, a wire from the battery to the car body.

Ef5 (30 A) - ignition (circuits F1-F4, F9-F12, F17-F19).

Check relay K3.

Ef6 (20 A) - cooling fan (radiator).

If the fan does not turn on (it is quite difficult to determine its operation by sound, because it works quite quietly), additionally check the fuses Ef8, Ef21 and relays K9, K11. Make sure the fan is running by applying voltage directly from the battery. With the engine running, check the coolant level, coolant temperature sensor, radiator cap and expansion tank (the valve in the cap must be in good condition, the cap must be tightened), the thermostat is working. In the worst case, if there are problems with the temperature and pressure of the coolant, a burnt cylinder head gasket may be the cause.

Ef7 (30 A) - heated rear window.

See F6.

Ef8 (30 A) - high fan speed of the cooling system (radiator).

See Eph.6.

Ef9 (20 A): power windows of the front and rear right doors.

See F6.

Ef10 (15 A) - electronic control unit (ECU), ignition coils, exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Ef11 (10 A) - main relay circuit, electronic engine management (ECM) controller.

Ef12 (25 A) - headlights, dimensions.

If the one-way lamps do not light, check fuses Ef23 or Ef28. If the headlights do not light, check the headlight bulbs, as well as the contact pads, which may be missing due to poor contact. To replace the bulbs, you will most likely have to remove the air filter housing.

Ef13 (15 A) - brake lights.

If none of the brake lights, including the additional one, is lit, additionally check fuse F4, as well as the d-pad switch on the brake pedal and its connector with wires. If the additional brake light works, but the main one does not, replace the lamps in the headlights, the lamps are double-filament, both could burn out. Also check the contacts in the ground connectors and wiring.

Ef14 (20 A) - power windows on the driver's door.

See F6.

Ef15 (15 A) - high beam lamps in the headlights.

If the main beam does not turn on, also check the K4 relay, the serviceability of the lamps in the headlights and the contacts in their connectors (could be oxidized), the light switch to the left of the steering wheel. Measure the voltage at the headlight connectors. If there is no voltage at the necessary contacts when the high beam is on, then the malfunction is in the steering column switch or wiring.

Ef16 (15 A) - horn, siren, hood limit switch.

If the sound signal does not work, check, in addition to this fuse, relay K2. A common problem is the lack or loss of contact with the body, which is located on the side member behind the left headlight. Clean and make good contact. Check the voltage at the signal terminals, if not, then the wiring or buttons on the steering wheel. Check the signal itself by applying 12 V directly to it. If it is faulty, replace it with a new one.

Ef17 (10 A) - air conditioning compressor.

See F6.

Ef18 (15 A) - fuel pump.

If the fuel pump does not work, also check fuse F2 in the cab mounting block, fuse Ef22 in the engine compartment and relay K7, as well as the health of the pump itself by applying 12V directly to it. If it works, feel the wires for a break and check the contacts. If it doesn't work, please replace it with a new one. To remove the fuel pump, you need to disconnect the battery, remove the rear seat cushion, open the sunroof, disconnect the fuel lines, tighten the retaining ring and pull out the fuel pump. If the fuel system is not pressurized enough, the problem may be with the pressure regulator.

Ef19 (15 A) - dashboard, electric folding mirrors, individual light lamps in the cabin, common ceiling in the cabin, light in the trunk, trunk position limit switch.

See F4.

Ef20 (10 A) - left headlight, low beam.

If the right dipped beam does not turn on, see fuse Ef27.

If the dipped beam of both headlights went out, check the bulbs, two of them could burn at the same time, as well as their connectors, their contacts and the presence of moisture. Also, the reason may be in the wiring from connector C202 to the light switch on the steering wheel. Look under the torpedo, it can catch fire, especially if you have a hatchback. Also check the operation of the steering column switch.

Ef21 (15 A) - electronic control unit (ECU), adsorber purge valve, oxygen concentration sensors, phase sensor, cooling system fan (radiator).

Ef22 (15 A) - fuel pump, injectors, exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Ef23 (10 A) - side light lamps on the left side, license plate light, warning signal.

See Eph.12.

Ef24 (15 A) - fog lights.

Fog lights in most cases only work when the dimensions are on.

If the "foglights" stop working in wet weather, check if water has got into them, as well as the serviceability of the lamps.

Ef25 (10 A) - electric side mirrors.

See F8.

Ef26 (15 A) - central locking.

Ef27 (10 A) - right headlight, low beam.

See Eph.20.

Ef28 (10A) - right position lights, dashboard and center console lights, radio lights, clock.

Ef29 (10 A) - reserve;

Ef30 (15 A) - reserve;

Ef31 (25 A) - reserve.

Relay

  • 1 - dashboard and center console backlight relay.
  • 2 - horn relay.

    See Eph.16.
  • 3 - main ignition relay.

    Check fuse Ef5.
  • 4 - headlight relay in the headlights.
  • 5 - fog lamp relay.

    See Eph.24.
  • 6 - air conditioning compressor clutch.

    See F6.
  • 7 - fuel pump, ignition coils.

    See Eph.18.
  • 8 - power windows.
  • 9 - low speed of the cooling system fan (radiator).

    See Eph.6.
  • 10 - rear window heating.

    See F6.
  • 11 - high speed cooling fan (radiator).

    See Eph.6.

Relay

They are mounted on a special bracket located under the instrument panel, near the pedals. Access to them is extremely difficult. First you need to open the box for small things and unscrew the two screws with a screwdriver.

Chevrolet Lacetti fuses and relays

Then, having overcome the resistance of all three clamps, we remove the lower trim of the instrument panel, release it from the hood lock mechanism and remove it completely.

In open space, you need to find the desired support.

Goal

  1. battery protection system control unit;
  2. turn signal switch;
  3. relay for turning on foglights in the rear lights;
  4. starter blocking relay (for vehicles with automatic transmission).

Depending on the vehicle configuration, (BLOWER RELAY) is installed - an air conditioning fan relay, (DRL RELAY) - a relay for the forced headlight system.

Additional Information

A good example of why fuses can blow can be seen in this video.
