Shimano Steps E8000: A New System Designed For Electric Mountain Bikes

Having been in the electric bike market since 2013, the Japanese Shimano manufacturing team is gearing up to release a new motor specifically tailored for electric mountain bikes.

As sales of electric mountain bikes continue to grow, Shimano is following this trend and announcing a new motor by the end of the year. Designed to complete the E6000 Steps, a leisure-focused engine engine launched in 2013, the E8000 Steps will be specifically tailored for off-road applications and will be based on a much more compact engine than the current model, which should optimize the feel. on the steering wheel.

At the heart of the system will be a 250W 70Nm crank motor coupled to a 500Wh battery. Via Bluetooth, the user can fully customize the display via their computer, phone or smartphone.

The Shimano E8000 Steps system is expected to launch in October 2016.
