Highway Polestar 2 and Tesla Model 3 - Nextmove test. Polestar 2 is a little weaker [video]

German channel Nextmove decided to test Polestar 2 against the background of Tesla Model 3 Performance. As expected, the Chinese car turns out to have more power and less range than even the most powerful Model 3, but it is fun to drive and looks good.

Test: Polestar 2 and Tesla Model 3 performance

The Polestar 2 was tested with the Performance Package, two motors with a total output of 300 kW (408 hp), a 74 (78) kWh battery and a claimed WLTP range of 470 units. Tesla Model 3 Performance also has two engines (total power: 340 kW / 462 hp) and a battery with the same usable capacity of 74 (80) kWh, of which the manufacturer promises 530 units of the WLTP range.

So the difference in range between the cars is 12,8% in favor of Tesla, at least according to the catalog.

It turned out that when driving on the highway "I try to keep 130 km / h" (average: 117 km / h), the Polestar 2 consumed 25,6 kWh / 100 km (256 Wh / km), and the Tesla Model 3 - 21 kWh. / 100 km (210 Wh / km). Thus, the Polestar 2's power consumption was 21,9% higher than that of the Tesla Model 3 Performance. under the same conditions.

This is translated to range: Polestar 2 will overcome 273 kilometers on battery, Tesla Model 3 - 328 kilometers. When driving in the range of 80-10 percent, it will be 191 and 230 kilometers, respectively. If we compare the measurements with the manufacturer's statement, it turns out that at a speed of 130 km / h, Tesla is able to achieve 61,9 percent of the WLTP value, and Polestar 2 - 57,7 percent.

Polestar 2 is therefore weaker in the catalog and on the road. However, as its driver emphasized, the car is pleasing to the eye and pleasant to drive. We add that during the test, the temperature was close to ideal, but the weather was changing, the drivers went, among other things, in heavy rain and on wet surfaces.

The cost of Tesla Model 3 Performance in Poland is from PLN 265, Polestar 2 with visible Performance package is from about PLN 295.
