According to the rules of the road, any car must be equipped with a first aid kit. If earlier drivers were required to have various medicines in their first aid kit - iodine, activated carbon, nitroglycerin, validol, analgin, and so on - now all this is excluded from the list.

The car first-aid kit must necessarily include bandages, napkins, tourniquets to stop bleeding, scissors, medical gloves. As practice shows, most drivers do not know how to use certain drugs. And if the victim is given the wrong medicine, then the harm from this will be much greater. The duty of any driver is to call an ambulance in time and stop the bleeding by providing first aid. The first aid kit is valid for 18 months.

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses, article 12.5 part one, for the absence of a first-aid kit, a minimum fine of 500 rubles is due.

However, it should be remembered that no inspector has the right to stop you and require you to present a first-aid kit. Even if you are stopped to help those injured in an accident. Without a first aid kit, you will not be able to pass the inspection. If everything is in order with the TO ticket, this means that the first-aid kit was in order at the time of its passage.

Of course, you should not go into conflict. Show first aid kit, fire extinguisher and emergency parking sign if everything is in order. But if they are not, then proceed as follows:

• ask the inspector why you were stopped if you did not break any rules;
• ask him about the traffic rules clause, according to which he is allowed to require you to have a first-aid kit;

Remember that the MOT coupon is a guarantee that the first-aid kit was at the time of the inspection. Even if the traffic police conduct a special detention operation (in this case, they have the right to stop your car and conduct an inspection, but only if you are informed about its reasons - there was a robbery or the car fled the scene of an accident), the lack of a first aid kit cannot cause you to be fined.

Write in the protocol that you do not agree with the decision, you gave the first-aid kit to the victims, and at the moment you are going to purchase a new one.

Do not forget that the road is a high-risk area and a first aid kit can save the life of you and other people, so make sure that you always have it with you, especially since it is not so expensive.
