Fine for not having a fire extinguisher in a car in 2016
A fire extinguisher is a very necessary thing in any home, however, it should also be mandatory in a car, since vehicle fires for a variety of reasons - engine overheating, short circuit, fuse failure - are not uncommon. With the help of a fire extinguisher, the flame can be extinguished in a few seconds, while water will not always be able to help, since it will simply evaporate. The foam from the mouth of the fire extinguisher does not extinguish the fire, it blocks the access of oxygen to the flame, and any fire is extinguished.
Usually, powder fire extinguishers are used in cars - OP-1 or OP-2, with a capacity of up to two liters. They must not be expired, that is, they must be purchased or recharged at least a year ago. Paragraph 7.7 of the Vehicle Fault List clearly states that it is forbidden to drive any vehicle unless it is equipped with a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and a warning triangle.
The penalty for the absence of the above items is minimal - fine 500 rubles. Also, according to the Code of Administrative Offenses 12.5, part one, you can get off with a simple warning if the traffic cop discovers that you do not have any of these vital items.

You can only pass inspection if you have a fire extinguisher. If you have successfully passed MOT, then at the time of passing all this you had. The inspection is carried out with attesting witnesses and a protocol is drawn up, it can only be carried out at a stationary checkpoint of the traffic police. Also, an inspection can be carried out on the side of the road, but only if there are grounds for this - car theft, information about the transportation of weapons or drugs, and so on.
However, even if you come under the search and it is carried out in accordance with all the rules, then you can always think of something about the first-aid kit and a fire extinguisher - they put out the fire, and the first-aid kit was given to the victims. The main thing is that you have passed MOT. Also in clause 2.3.1 of the SDA it is said that if there are malfunctions, you need to move to the place of repair or their elimination with precautions, that is, you just go to the store for a fire extinguisher.
